Statement

Edith Burtenshaw has been engaged in the last two years with the subject of "the Bed". A place in which we spend a great deal of our life, no place is so intimate, ignored and private as this space. In it we have our greatest experiences, from the ordinary, to great joy, or deepest despair. Nowhere else can we descend so deeply into the surreal world of dreams, wishes, hopes, nightmares. I enter this world with my photographic compositions.
